GENERAL 

  • Follow food and safety guidelines set by the authorities (e.g. handwashing)

  • Dry goods, canned foods, and fresh produce should be stored away from pests, pets, and other chemicals

  • Packaged foods should be donated in its original unopened packaging with ingredients

  • Cooked food must be distributed within 8 hours after preparation

GUIDELINES

WHAT WE CAN ACCEPT OR GIVE OUT:

  • Extra foods from establishments

  • Home prepared foods

  • Commercially packaged not needing refrigeration or frozen foods

  • Fresh produce (fruits or vegetables)

  • Food properly handled, stored, and prepared

  • Food that doesn't need temperature control (uncooked rice, canned goods, and boxed cereals)

  • Baked goods that are not potentially hazardous

  • Handled/stored/prepared in a residential household

     

GUIDELINES

WHAT WE CAN'T ACCEPT OR GIVE OUT:

  • Expired foods and goods

  • Canned foods in rusty or severely damaged containers

  • Foods in soiled containers

  • Distressed food (from a fire, flood or prolonged storage)

  • Home cooked meals that was eaten or touched beforehand

  • Foods with an "off" odor

  • Rotten food produce
